Rocksole Rebrand
A rebrand that carries the craft, culture, and stories of bo-kaap forward.
The brief, From Concept to Client: Positioning Yourself Through Purpose Driven Design, challenged me to create a self directed project that reflects my values, strengths, and design identity through real world impact. Rather than branding myself directly, the aim was to let my creative voice and purpose emerge through the way I research, strategise, and design. I chose to respond to this through Rocksole – From Sole to Soul, a rebrand of a small family run cobbler workshop in Bo-Kaap. The project explores how design can preserve craft, heritage, and sustainability, aligning with my belief that meaningful communication design has the power to protect stories and strengthen communities. Over seven weeks, I developed the project from research to execution, using strategy, empathy, and storytelling to position Rocksole for a more connected future, and in the process, define who I am as a purpose driven designer.
